Cultural Initiatives Support Program

Numerous organizations and municipalities are looking to promote their heritage or bring life to their communities by means of cultural activities. Aware that these initiatives sometimes have difficulty meeting the criteria of the provincial and federal subsidy programs, the Pontiac CLD decided to reserve a portion of their budget for project proposals. The NPO's or the municipalities can present their cultural project proposals, for example publishing heritage booklets, the creation of interpretive signs, the organization of an event that highlights local culture...

Complete your project form and submit it to the CLD’s cultural agent before May 15th. The priority projects will be those that fit-in with the objectives of the Pontiac MRC’s Strategic Plan.

 

Pontiac Heritage Awards

This program, initiated by the MRC Pontiac - the Ministry of Culture, Communications and Status of Women and the Pontiac CLD, offers owners of historic homes services and admice of an architect specializing in heritage buildings for their proposed exterior renovations.

 

This assistance program will help ensure the quality of the renovations, to preserve the heritage features of the buildings and improve the comfort in the homes in order to preserve the architectural features in the Pontiac and increase tourist interest in the entire territory of the MRC.

 

Steps:

  • File submitted to the CLD Pontiac;
  • The file is sent to the architect;
  • Telephone meeting between the architect and the owner;
  • Completion of two sketches and a list of work at the owner wishes to accomplish and the contractor;
  • Review of the feedback from the owner and the contractor.

Terms:

Your application must be filed with the Pontiac CLD. The file must include:

  • The application form duly filled;
  • Color photographs of the house and, if possible, old photographs;
  • A summary list of proposed work;
  • A contribution of $50 (total cost of service = 668$) will be applied to eligible homeowners.

This program is open only to owners of heritage houses. those belonging to the Pontiac Heritage buildings Inventory will be prioritized. Contact the CLD to ensure that your house is eligible for this program.
