Campbell’s Bay, November 22, 2019—It is with both sadness and gratitude that we announce that Ms. Danielle Newman will be leaving her position as Director of Economic Development, effective January 10, 2020.
Ms. Newman cited personal reasons for leaving a function that she continues to feel passionate about, that of the economic development of her county. She had this to say when she announced her departure to her co-workers:
“It was an honour and a pleasure to work for the MRC Pontiac, and I will miss my role as Director of Economic Development very much. During this transition period, I will do all that I can to make sure that the department sustains the positive momentum that we have created.
“I would also like to express my appreciation to you, dear colleagues, and to the people of Pontiac, for welcoming me so warmly. I hope to continue contributing to the development of the Pontiac by becoming more involved in the community after my departure from the MRC.”
During her time with us, Ms. Newman’s many accomplishments included restructuring several internal processes for maximum efficiency, and maintaining and launching new economic development projects.
The hiring process is already under way, and to ensure a successful approach, we have requested the services of staffing experts at the Fédération québécoise des municipalités (FQM). For her part, Ms. Newman is planning a smooth transition by making sure her files are in order and ready to be handed off to her successor when the time comes.
On behalf of the staff and the Council of Mayors, I wish to thank Danielle from the bottom of my heart for her excellent work and the great collaboration she has developed between the MRC and our economic development partners. We wish her every success and happiness in her plans for the future.
