First Youth council of the MRC Pontiac: a first in the history of Quebec’s MRCs

Campbell’s Bay, January 14th, 2019— The first Youth Council of the MRC Pontiac will be officially held on January 21st, 2019. This initiative is a first in the history of Quebec’s MRCs. The Youth council is made up of 18 students between the ages of 14 and 18 representing the 18 municipalities of the MRC.

The project, which was initiated by Warden Toller, was accepted by the mayors during the Regional council on September 17, 2018. This important resolution gives the youth a voice to address their priorities for our future in the Pontiac.

The Youth council will be held in the Elsie Gibbons room at the MRC Pontiac at 7 p.m. in the presence of their parents, 3 school directors, the 18 mayors and Warden Toller.
