JOINT PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Isle-aux-Allumettes, August 2, 2018 – The Coopérative de Solidarité Houblon Pontiac (CSHP) is happy to announce the implementation of a Seal of Quality with the acronym “PQP: Premium Quality Pellets.” The Seal will be combined with detailed guide lines that will improve the quality of hops pellets for the producers of the Pontiac, Quebec and Canada, drawn up by the CSHP’s president, Mireille Allard.
Proud partners in this initiative and supported by the MRC Pontiac (within the framework of the agricultural zone development plan), the Lupuline Hopyard and the CSHP are positioning themselves as leaders in the Quebec hops industry by sharing the results of their research and their expertise with Pontiac businesses who are either members or future members of the CSHP.
Charles Allard, owner of Lupuline Hopyard says that: “The MRC Pontiac’s commitment and the support of elected officials and Government agencies have enabled us to acquire pelletizing equipment which allowed us to differentiate ourselves by the superior quality of our product. I believe that the knowledge and technology developed in our region will promote the emergence of new producers, fascinated by the challenge of growing hops.”
The Seal of Quality emerged from the partners’ know-how and the launch of a new hops pelletizing equipment by the cooperative in March 2016. Therefore, thanks to this cutting edge technology, the pelletizing machine, the CSHP and its clients will be able to produce hops pellets of premium quality exceeding what is produced elsewhere in Eastern North America.
