Message of Public Interest
January 23, 2020 – Saint-Hubert – Headquarters of 34th Canadian Brigade Group
About fifty reservists from the Hull Regiment will take part in a rural military exercise in Shawville on January 25 and 26.
Over the course of the weekend, soldiers will familiarize themselves with winter training. In addition to using military equipment such as toboggans and arctic tents, they will practice navigation, camouflage and winter survival.
The public will be able to observe soldiers in the area of the arena as well as some convoys of military vehicles. However, the necessary measures have been taken to minimize the impact on people and the environment.
This stimulating training aims to prepare the soldiers of the Hull Regiment for the validation exercise which will take place on the Valcartier base in February. The Hull Regiment is an armored reconnaissance unit of the Reserve Force. These part-time soldiers are dedicated and professional members who, in everyday life, come from private business, the scientific community, the academic community, the cultural community and the business community.
