July 11, 2018 – In the last budget speech, the Government of Quebec announced $ 20 million for the 2018-2019 RénoRégion program (PRR) of the Société d’Habitation du Québec (SHQ).
An amount of $ 400,000 is reserved for low-income and modest-income homeowners in the MRC Pontiac so that they can have work carried out to correct major defects in their homes.
- Reimbursement for as much as 95% of the approved costs for the completion of eligible work, up to a maximum of $ 12,000.
- Since 2015, nearly $ 65 million has been announced to help maintain the rural residential real estate portfolio thanks to the Reno-Region Program.
- For a file to be eligible, the dwelling must require at least $ 2,000 of work to correct one or more major defects affecting exterior walls, structure, projections, openings, plumbing, electricity, roofing, heating or thermal insulation. The work must also begin after having obtained the approval of the MRC and be completed within six months of the date of their authorization.
This program is funded in part by the federal government through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
