Ceci est un message du service environnement de la MRC de Pontiac

De nos jours, il y a encore, dans les forêts publiques de la MRC de Pontiac, de nombreux sites de dépotoirs sauvages, ces lieux où les gens vont déposer illégalement des déchets. On y trouve pêle-mêle des déchets ménagers, des matières recyclables, des encombrants et des résidus de construction. Les photos ont été prises le 8 octobre 2019 sur le chemin Usborne/Picanoc au km 31. Elles montrent parfaitement l’ampleur du problème !

À cet endroit se trouvaient dans le passé 2 bennes à ordures gérées par la MRC pour permettre aux utilisateurs du TNO de se départir de leurs ordures ménagères. Malgré les affiches disant que seules les ordures ménagères étaient acceptées, de nombreux et incessants dépôts de déchets NON ménagers ont poussé la MRC à fermer définitivement ce service en automne 2017.

Il existe une solution alternative au dépôt sauvage des déchets ! À la suite d’une entente signée entre Otter Lake et la MRC, les utilisateurs du TNO des cantons desservis par le chemin Picanoc peuvent déposer leurs ordures ménagères au site de réception municipal (577 Route 301 Nord), et ce sans frais. Malgré cela, la MRC doit débourser chaque année plusieurs milliers de dollars pour nettoyer ce site. Depuis le début de nettoyage en 2010, 60 000 $ ont été dépensés et  100 tonnes de déchets sauvages ont été ramassées à cet endroit et on ne constate aucune amélioration !

Il en est de même pour les utilisateurs du TNO transitant par les principaux chemins d’accès au TNO. Les utilisateurs du TNO des cantons desservis par le chemin du Bois Franc peuvent aller au site de réception de Mansfield-et-Pontefract, ceux du chemin Schyan à Sheenboro et ceux du chemin Rapides à Rapides-des-Joachims.

Les milieux naturels sont la richesse du Pontiac, préservez-les et rapportez les déchets dans des lieux autorisés !
