Déclaration de la MRC de Pontiac concernant sa position relative aux véhicules motorisés sur la piste cyclable du Cycloparc PPJ

La MRC de Pontiac tient à corriger certaines informations trompeuses qui circulent en Outaouais depuis quelques semaines et qui laissent sous-entendre que la MRC de Pontiac vise à autoriser l’accès à la piste cyclable du Cycloparc PPJ aux quads et autres véhicules motorisés.

En fait, le Conseil de la MRC de Pontiac n’a aucunement l’intention de priver les cyclistes et randonneurs du Cycloparc PPJ, ni de mettre en danger leur sécurité en autorisant la circulation motorisée sur la piste cyclable. La MRC a mis plus de deux décennies à bâtir ce sentier et à obtenir le statut de Route verteMC; il demeure exclusivement réservé aux randonneurs et aux véhicules sans moteurs (vélos, patins, planches à roulettes et trottinettes), et le non-respect de cette règle peut entraîner une contravention de 250 $ à 500 $.

Le Comité VTT mis en place le 16 avril 2016 lors de la séance régulière du Conseil de la MRC de Pontiac a reçu comme mandat d’identifier les voies potentielles qui permettraient aux utilisateurs de VTT de se déplacer d’une municipalité à l’autre. Par voies potentielles, il faut comprendre que seuls les sentiers VTT existants, les routes secondaires peu achalandées et la largeur excédentaire du Cycloparc PPJ sont envisagés pour la création d’un tracé officiel.

Nous invitons les citoyens et les groupes d’intérêt qui souhaitent se prononcer sur ce sujet de nous faire part de leurs commentaires et recommandations avant le 12 septembre 2016, soit par courriel au service des communications de la MRC : communication@mrcpontiac.qc.ca, ou en exprimant votre opinion ci-dessous. Le Comité déposera son rapport au Conseil de la MRC le 20 septembre 2016.
