MRC Pontiac Committee Policies

Human resources committee (HR)Establish a procedure to deal with issues concerning non-unionized employees (C.M. 2017-03-09)Jane Toller (Warden), Terry Lafleur, Colleen Larivière, Sandra Armstrong, and Karen Daly-Kelly.
Pontiac Emergency Services Committee Coordinating table of the various regional public safety stakeholders, bringing together, among others, fire departments, pre-hospital emergency services, police services and other stakeholders to optimize the coordination of resources devoted to public and road user safety. The committee meets at least twice a year.
Fire Safety Committee (CSI)The mandate of the Fire Safety Committee is to ensure that the actions provided for in the Fire Safety Cover Plan will be carried out by the Fire Safety Services and the participating municipalities according to the planned schedule. The committee meets every 2 months.
Public Safety Committee (CSP)The purpose of the CSP is to involve elected municipal officials in maintaining a safe living environment. It ensures a follow-up on the police services offered by the Sûreté in the MRC or the equivalent territory while creating a privileged communication link between the Sûreté and the clientele it serves (Description taken from the SQ website).Sandra Armstrong, Alain Gagnon, Donald Gagnon, Edward Walsh, Odette Godin, Doug Rousselle, Karen Daly-Kelly, and two representatives of the Sûreté du Québec.
Agricultural advisory committee (two year mandate)Its mandate is to study, at the request of the council of the MRC or the community or on its own initiative, any question relating to the development of the agricultural territory, the practice of agricultural activities and the environmental aspects related to the development of this territory and the practice of these activities.Brent Orr, Bob Griffin, Rita Payne, David Gillespie, and Pierre-Alain Jones.
Follow-up committee,
Agricultural Zone Development Plan (PDZA)
Ensures the implementation of the PDZA and closely monitors the recommended actions such as the organization of services in agriculture, assistance in the establishment of the next generation of farmers and support for the development of new sectors.
Investment committee (CI)It applies the politique d’investissement commune (Common Investment Policy) with due regard to sound portfolio management. It ensures that the promoter has the internal and external resources to support and advise him.Jane Toller (Warden), Sandra Armstrong, Émile Vallée, Connie Gutoskie, Stéphane Labine, Robert Soulard, Nicole Thompson, Guillaume Boudreau and Karim El Kerch.
FRR analysis committee
Component 2 : Support for the local and regional development competence of the MRCs
The committee's mandate is to analyze the projects submitted under the program of structuring projects (projets structurants) to improve living environments.
Multiresource committee (management of TPI’s)The committee has an advisory role with respect to the following matters: Planning the development and use of intra-municipal public lands identified in Schedule 1 of the land management agreement; planning the development of the territory and analyzing the conformity of proposed development projects; and the use of the Fonds de mise en valeur des terres publiques intramunicipales (Intra-municipal Public Land Development Fund.)Terry Lafleur, Doris Ranger, Jane Toller (Warden), Martin Boucher, Rhonda Perry, Pierre Rolin, Paula Armstrong.
Forestry committeeThe committee's objective is to support the development of a forest resource industry in the RCM's territory, particularly through the revitalization of the forestry sector. In addition, it allows the RCM to obtain a better understanding and a fairly accurate picture of the situation prevailing among organizations, entrepreneurs and processing plants in the forestry sector. PPJ committeeIts mandate is to study the issue of a PPJ multi-use trail. (C.M. 2019-04-24)Corey Spence, Bill McCleary, Donald Gagnon, Odette Godin, Christine Francoeur, and Sandra Armstrong.
Youth CouncilThe objective is to give a voice to youth and to work on priorities to make the Pontiac a more dynamic region for youth.Jane Toller (Warden) and citizen members.
îles Lafontaine committeeThe mandate of this committee includes the evaluation of the feasibility of a national park project at the Lafontaine Islands, the creation of a strategy for the development of a national park at the Lafontaine Islands if the results of the feasibility assessment are positive and collaboration with stakeholders and community members. (C.M. 2019-11-23)
Tourism committeeMeets 4 times a year to discuss tourism in the Pontiac, future marketing strategies and Pontiac tourism businesses and services.Donald Gagnon, Bill McCleary, Lynn Cameron, Danelle Bourque (MRC Tourism), Robin Judd, Dennis Blaedow, and Adam Thompson.
Advisory Committee for Revision of the Land Use and Development PlanThe Advisory Committee is responsible for attending the public consultation meetings and participating in the development work of the Strategic Vision Statement, of the Strategic Development Vision 2030, and of the revision of the Land Use and Development Plan 2040.Brent Orr, Ed Walsh, Colleen Larivière, Jean-Louis Corriveau, Christine Francoeur, Sandra Armstrong, Doris Ranger, Donald Gagnon, Terry Lafleur, and Jane Toller (Warden).
Analysis Committee for the Regional Art CollectionThis committee has the mandate to establish calls for projects, review submissions and make recommendations on the procurement of the MRC Pontiac. Lynn Cameron, Alain Gagnon, a representative of the cultural community, a representative of the artist community, and a representative of the general population.
Flood Prevention Task ForceThe purpose of this group is to allow concerted action by various key players working together to prevent spring flooding. This is not a standing committee, but a task force that meets on an ad hoc basis as needed.
