Campbell’s Bay, May 15, 2020 – Despite the controlled access points being lifted in the MRC Pontiac and in other parts of the Province, provincial health officials continue to ask citizens to limit their travel for essential reasons only. This applies to both permanent and seasonal residents.
COVID-19 Guidelines for Property Owners and Seasonal Residents of the MRC Pontiac:
When planning a visit to your property (including those in the ZEC), we strongly recommend that you follow these guidelines:
-
- Try not to circulate in the community;
- Do your shopping and gather supplies for the duration of your stay (gas, food, beer, wine, etc.) before leaving your primary residence;
- Do not visit the local shops and merchants;
- If it is urgent, call ahead to inquire about zero-contact pickup and delivery options;
- Do not host visitors. Large gatherings are still prohibited at this time;
- Only members of the same household are allowed;
- Keep a safe distance of 2-metres if you must come in contact with anyone outside of your ‘bubble’;
- If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, dry cough), call 1-819-644-4545 or 1-877-644-4545 and stay at home!
If you choose to stay at your secondary residence for the duration of the season, we recommend you do the following:
-
- Self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days once you arrive;
- Avoid contact with anyone outside of your household;
- Stay in your home/do not leave your property until your quarantine has ended;
- If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, dry cough), call 1-819-644-4545 or 1-877-644-4545 and stay at home!
- Cottage, Airbnb, hotel, and motel rentals are not yet allowed;
- A reminder to all residents that there is a ban on open air fires issued by the Société de Protection des Forêts Contre le Feu (SOPFEU). Please inquire with your municipality about fire restrictions in your area.
We are asking you to use your better judgement when considering a trip to your cottage and/or outside of the Province at this time, and consider that these guidelines are in place to continue protecting our unaffected area.
We, the Regional Council of Mayors, Warden Jane Toller and MRC Pontiac staff, trust that our permanent and seasonal residents will act responsibly and make the right choices.
