Litchfield, September 8, 2021 – Quebec’s Culture Days to return to the Pontiac this fall!
The pandemic reminds us daily of the essential role of arts and culture in our society. That’s why, this year, the celebration of Quebec’s Culture Days (Les Journées de la Culture) will be returning to the MRC Pontiac with three days of free activities available for the population. Events will be held from Friday, September 24 to Sunday, September 26, 2021 at various locations across the Pontiac.
‘’I am absolutely delighted to see some cultural activities returning to the Pontiac this year. Throughout this pandemic, the postponement of many of our usual summer activities has been a great disappointment for many. I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of these free events and support some of the wonderfully talented artists and exciting venues the Pontiac has to offer,’’ said Jane Toller, Warden of the MRC Pontiac.
Initiated and orchestrated by Culture pour Tous, the ‘’Journées de la Culture’’ are three days of free activities open to all that promote greater public access to arts and culture. As decreed by the National Assembly, the event takes place every year on the last Friday of September and the two following days, throughout Quebec. Hydro-Québec have partnered with Culture pour Tous, to financially support the production of cultural and artistic activities in selected municipalities of less than 3,000 inhabitants. This year, the MRC Pontiac has been chosen again to benefit from this program.
“Hydro-Québec is delighted to partner with the MRC of Pontiac to sponsor activities that foster local pride and spotlight the creativity within its municipalities,” said Alain Paquette, Advisor – Community Relations at Hydro-Québec.
