The MRC Pontiac celebrates International Women’s Day

Litchfield, March 8, 2022 – The MRC Pontiac celebrates International Women’s Day

In honour of International Women’s Day, the office of the MRC Pontiac would like to highlight and celebrate the women who work in every department within our organization. Their hard work and dedication make the MRC Pontiac a great place to work and thrive. The MRC would also like to acknowledge our female elected officials, including our Warden, who make up almost 50% of the Regional Council of Mayors. Without your dedication to your communities and your work, the Pontiac region would not be the same. Thank you all and bravo!

International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 to recognize the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The event celebrates women’s achievements and raises awareness about women’s equality and lobbies for accelerated gender parity.

Observed for the first time in 1911, International Women’s Day aims to highlight and recognize the achievements of women in different spheres while also bringing attention to important issues including gender discrimination that still exist today.
